Noted Counselling psychologist Ms Shivani Kapoor was in KiiT International School. She was there for three days on the school campus from 16th to 18 August 22. She has conducted her first day Interactive session for Grade 6 to 10 students. She has conducted a few sessions with these kids and told them about emotional intelligence, and how they need to interact with parents, teachers, and other caregivers. Then, she conducted an interactive session with Coordinators on leadership and its importance in the school education system.
Later in the evening, she conducted her session with parents on aspects of building confidence and instilling independence and how to develop emotional, social, and intellectual quotients in children. Really all the sessions are so informative and interactive. It was a really wonderful day for our students, coordinators, and parents to know how to learn and unlearn things that are very important to their daily life. She has conducted sessions for other senior secondary students, Boarding students, parents, and teachers simultaneously on day two and three. Ms Kapoor believes that experience is an asset, especially when dealing with children who need that special care and understanding. She founded “The Motivation” a center for Comprehensive Psychological Services in Noida, in the year 2013. Thank you Ms Shivani for being here as an educator and counselor. It is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of it's people, culture and achievements. It's been 76 years since India achieved independence after around 200 years of British rule. Yet, most of us know quite little about the complexities of such a big freedom movement lasting for years. This Independence Day, curl up with a good book and travel back in time to understand how our country achieved such an incredible feat.

Born on 9th / 12th August 1892 Siyali Ramamrita Ranganathan or S. R. Ranganathan was a mathematician by profession. His lifelong goal was to teach mathematics. However, when the post of University Librarian opened up in the University of Madras, he applied for it and was appointed eventually. This was a turning phase of his career. His most notable contributions to the field were his five laws of library science and the development of the first major faceted classification system, The Colon Classification. He is considered to be the father of library science, documentation, and information science in India.
