KiiT International School Model United Nations 2023
KiiT International School is presenting KiiT-IS MUN 2023 on 19th 20th of August at our campus in Bhubaneswar. Model UN is a popular activity for those interested in learning more about how the UN operates. Hundreds of thousands of students worldwide take part every year at all educational levels. Many of today’s leaders in law, government, business and the arts – including at the UN itself – participated in Model UN as student.

KiiT International School Model United Nations 2023
1. UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY- UNGA DISEC
The First Committee deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime.
2. UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL- UNSC
The Security Council has primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security. It has 15 Members, and each Member has one vote. Under the Charter of the United Nations, all Member States are obligated to comply with Council decisions.
3. UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY- SPECPOL
The Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) considers a broad range of issues covering a cluster of five decolonization-related agenda items, the effects of atomic radiation, questions relating to information, a comprehensive review of the question of peacekeeping operations as well as a review of special political missions, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA),
4. UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL- UNHRC
The Human Rights Council is an intergovernmental body within the United Nations system made up of 47 States responsible for the promotion and protection of all human rights around the globe.
5. UNITED NATIONS WOMEN
UN Women is the UN organization delivering programmes, policies and standards that uphold women’s human rights and ensure that every woman and girl lives up to her full potential.
6. UNITED NATIONS HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR REFUGEES- UNHCR
Refugee youth wish to be self-reliant and are eager to use their talents and passions to contribute to the communities hosting them. We can all do more to give refugees hope and opportunities while they are away from home.
7. ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL AFFAIRS COUNCIL- ECOFIN
The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) is responsible for EU policy in three main areas: economic policy, taxation issues and the regulation of financial services.
8. SOCIAL HUMANITARIAN AND CULTURAL COMMITTEE- SOCHUM
The Third Committee of the General Assembly at its seventy-seventh session, is chaired by His Excellency José Alfonso Blanco Conde of the Dominican Republic.
The General Assembly allocates to the Third Committee, agenda items relating to a range of social, humanitarian affairs and human rights issues that affect people all over the world.
9. UNITED NATIONS ENVIORNMENT ASSEMBLY- UNEA
The United Nations Environment Assembly is the world’s highest-level decision-making body on the environment, with a universal membership of all 193 Member States. The Assembly meets biennially in Nairobi, Kenya, to set priorities for global environmental policies and develop international environmental law.
10. UNITED NATIONS OFFICE OF DRUGS AND CRIME- UNODC
UNODC’s mission is to contribute to global peace and security, human rights and development by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism.
11. UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME- UNDP
UNDP works in about 170 countries and territories, helping to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion, and build resilience so countries can sustain progress. As the UN’s development agency, UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
